NEWS AND INFORMATION

The Northern Kentucky Council of the Blind is proud to announce the installation of a new audible pedestrian traffic signal at the intersection of 26th and Madison in Covington. The signal became active on August 26, 2009, and will make travel safer for students, senior citizens, and blind and visually impaired persons.

On Thursday, October 15, 2009, NKCB celebrated White Cane Day at the site of the new audible pedestrian signal. The mayor proclaimed October 15 to be White Cane Safety Day in Covington, and recognized the good work of NKCB in advocating for pedestrian safety and for the blind and visually impaired of the Northern Kentucky area.
